Your Self-Organizing Knowledge Base
Content saved to Recall gets automatically assigned a tag. This tag then appears in the tags side panel on the left.
- The tag is based on any existing tags you already have in your knowledge base and the core focus of the content. This keeps things organized while maintaining your intended structure.
- Tags, unlike folders, allow you to store a card in multiple places at once. This is useful when a card is relevant to multiple topics.
Add More Tags
Add more tags to a card by clicking the plus button and entering the tag name. If the tag already exists, Recall will suggest it to you; otherwise, it will create a new tag.
You can also create new tags directly in the tags side panel by clicking the + button in the header.
Nest Tags
In Recall, you can have nested tags, which allow you to organize tags in a hierarchical manner, where each tag can have sub-tags, creating layers of specificity. Simply type in ”/” to nest a tag.
Example: “Movies/Thrillers” will nest Thrillers under Movies.
Edit Existing Tags
To edit an existing tag, click the pencil icon next to the tag name in the tags side panel to rename it inline. Press Enter to save or Escape to cancel.
Sort Your Tags
The tags side panel offers multiple sorting options:
- Manual - Drag and drop to arrange tags in your preferred order
- Last Updated - See recently edited content first
- Created At - See recently added content first
- Alphabetical - Sort A-Z or Z-A
Click the sort icon in the tags side panel header to change how your tags are organized.
Bulk Actions
You can select multiple tags and cards in the tags side panel for bulk operations:
- Hold Ctrl/Cmd and click to select individual items
- Hold Shift and click to select a range
- Use the action bar that appears at the bottom to delete selected items
You can also perform bulk actions from the home page:
- Select the card you want to delete / tag in the top right corner of the card
